PIKO 37435 Electric Locomotive BR 194 DB IV

£638.80
The German BR194 was built by AEG starting in 1940. The 128t six-axle electric locomotive was designed for freight service but was used in passenger and express train service as well. By the end of WWII a total of 146 locomotives were delivered to the then DRG. Between 1954 and 1956 the DB ordered a further two batches of locomotives numbered E94 178 - E94 196 and E 94 262 - E94 285 to alleviate a shortage of powerful freight locomotives. for the same reason a further four used BR194s were purchased from the Eastern German DR.
The PIKO model shows a high level of detail. the fan louvers, rows of rivets, grab irons and metal pantograph are all meticulously reproduced, yet robust enough for garden railroading. Two gearboxes with ball bearing equipped motors ensure excellent pulling performance.
