The plans are straightforward and can be adapted easily; for instance if a longer engine shed is required you can add to the dimensions. The windows and doors are easy to paint. Each window has a removable rear glazing insert, which makes glazing simple. We have made the buildings large enough to be suitable for 16mm locomotives and wagons without them being too large for G scale.

For those who don't have the woodworking facilities for cutting out material, or would prefer to have the pieces available ready-cut, we offer the buildings as easy-to-assemble kits. We chose to make our buildings from readily available "moisture proof" MDF which was then painted with "weatherproof" paint.
